Branding an atmospheric B&B and event space.
When it comes to relaxing in style in the stunning countryside setting of Varsenare, there’s only one name you need to know: Maison Francois. Dries and Eva decided to convert their barn into a cosy B&B and multipurpose space. Our assignment was crystal clear: create a brand experience that embodies the atmosphere of the environment. We rolled up our sleeves straightaway and delivered a brand that feels like coming home.
A branding that
feels like home.
The concept called for a fitting name. Maison Francois is a reference to the owners: you’re always welcome in their home, whatever time of day or night. The room name, 'Chambre N°99', was chosen for the graphic elegance of the number. The event space was named ‘Bar Francois’; a reference to the concept name.
The branding had to match the atmosphere of the location and environment. Maison Francois needed to exude a feeling of shelter and belonging, as well as a sense of luxury. We paid close attention to the colours and materials used, which had to be soft, natural and organic. We were also given free rein to decide the imagery and photography style. The imagery used is atmospheric and hints at the daily swing of things at Maison Francois.
It's all about
The brand rollout is a combination of offline and online tools and experiences. We developed stationery, gift cards, postcards, signage and accessories in luxury paper and materials.
Of course, the project also needed a digital incarnation. We were fully responsible for the website, from design to copy to development. On top of that, we created a social media style, so that the brand can be brought to life consistently via those channels. The project had a huge impact on this small business, and we succeeded in achieving the desired results on a fairly tight budget.
