On September 23, Knokke-Heist launched its new identity. SKINN developed the completely new branding for Belgium's most famous and versatile seaside town.

Branding is not only important in a professional or commercial context. A clear and distinct city branding allows a city or region to position itself better in relation to others. Within the framework of their regional economy and well-being, cities also benefit from ensuring that citizens, companies and potential partners choose to live there, go there on holiday or work with them.

SKINN was a logical choice due to the long-term collaboration with Knokke-Heist. SKINN has extensive expertise in company and regional rebranding. With more than 15 years of experience, 3 offices nationally and internationally and a team of more than 60 experts, they are the ideal professional partner.

A first objective of the rebranding was to optimize the way in which Knokke-Heist presents itself externally. Knokke-Heist wants to be and remain THE high-quality, unique and innovative seaside town. The brand identity also needed a more high-quality and contemporary look to remain a forerunner. Moreover, in the future, Knokke-Heist wants to further highlight the diversity of experiences within the municipality in order to attract a broad but high-quality audience of visitors and residents.

Several meetings with Knokke-Heist stakeholders and site visits to the five neighborhoods (Heist, Duinbergen, Knokke, Het Zoute and Polders) provided insight into their challenges and objectives, their vision and mission and the values they uphold as a municipality: quality, diversity and innovation. In other words, Knokke-Heist is the high-quality, unique and innovative seaside town on a human scale, with all the advantages of a big city, but without the disadvantages.

Knokke-Heist offers a limitless range of unique places and experiences that invitingly flow into one another.

The 'fan' has therefore become Knokke-Heist's new logo. On the one hand, it symbolizes a radiant sun disappearing and reappearing on the horizon and, on the other, the five districts of Knokke-Heist and their diverse range of quality. The palette of communication colors was inspired by the colorful landscape and heritage. You will also see shapes, distilled from the fan, symbolizing the following five transitions: expanding, blowing out, rippling, rising, rocking.

Knokke-Heist is ready for its next exciting chapter as the seaside town of the future.
