At SKINN BRANDING AGENCY we live and breathe design. Both in what we create for clients as within the organisation itself. Everyone who works at SKINN has a love for beauty and in particular for branding. The designs SKINN brings to life always look pure, qualitative and simply beautiful. The design team has been a crucial link within the company from the start and has grown into a team of around 20 brand designers, developers, digital designers, motion designers, art directors, photographers and creative directors.
Founders Kurt De Vlieghere and David van Gessel have always been in charge of the design team until recently. To create opportunities for the further development of talent within the team, they pass the design torch on to two creative directors who will lead the team: Matty Bossouw and Fre Fonteyne. Kurt and David will count on the new creative directors for the further creative development of SKINN and will devote themselves more to coaching the people within SKINN while further developing the general business strategy together with managing director Ruth Bossuyt.
Meet the creative directors.
Matty Bossouw has been making his mark on SKINN’s work as a brand designer for over 10 years. What once started as an internship has grown into an indispensable position as a creative director. He masters and guards the SKINN signature like no other.
Matty is an aesthete. His style is pure, to the point and structured down to the smallest details. He sees it as his task to coach the younger generation of designers within the team in mastering the SKINN signature style and to allow it to evolve with the type of client that comes knocking on SKINN’s door.
“Today, our clients usually know very well what they want. They are critical and often already have their own vision on branding. It is up to us to make it clear that branding is about much more than just a beautiful logo. Branding is only gaining importance in this visually dominated world. The idea and strategy behind a branding are therefore just as essential as the beauty. Motion and sound will also gain importance in the future. An integrated approach is therefore crucial. This is how we make a difference for SKINN clients. ”
Fre Fonteyne has been playing with words and images like no other for more than 20 years and is also the man who takes the lead in the naming and baseline process at SKINN. After gaining experience at several smaller agencies, he wrote his first chapter at SKINN in 2011. He made a detour of several years through the world of advertising, then returned to branding, his first love, coming back to SKINN. Fre is a man of words. Strengthening a brand with words and storytelling is his strength. His experience in advertising helps in this. The art of pouring the right visual and verbal sauce on the best strategy and content is key.

With this new leadership on design SKINN strengthens its position to continue to grow without losing its humane or brand-focused approach. Being smart yet empathetic, being close to a brand and understanding the customer without becoming too theoretical, that's the ultimate goal.
